Work has begun on a new solar scheme near Ratoath in Co Meath. Hydropower company Statkraft has turned the sod on a project called Harlockstown Solar that could power up to 9,000 homes. The project is one of a number that is part of a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) package with Microsoft to supply the tech giant with 366MW of clean energy from six wind and solar farms.
